NYU's Independent Evaluation on TPFA Program Outcomes

"TPFA produces measurable shifts in how participants understand and engage with their own lives. The most significant changes occur in internal locus of control, resilience after failure, and confidence in achieving goals.

Importantly, these changes align closely with the development of learned optimism. Participants become more likely to interpret outcomes as influenced by their own actions, persist through setbacks, and expect effort to produce results. This represents not just a shift in belief, but a shift in behavior. Participants move from knowing what flourishing entails to actively practicing it.
As one participant summarizes, 'This has been an enlightening experience that reminded me that I am capable and ultimately I am the driving force for my success.' This transition from passive belief to active authorship captures the central outcome of the TPFA and highlights its potential as a tool for sustained flourishing."

Is FLORIS
right for you?
WHAT FLORIS IS NOT:
FLORIS is not a coaching program and it is not a mental health intervention.
FLORIS is not prescriptive. No one will tell you what to do. TPFA is a simple process, gently guided, that supports you in looking at your own life and your aspirations.

There are no gurus in FLORIS.

FLORIS is a community of practice of vetted peers. Members are professional peers who convene once per month to use the research-backed Practical Flourishing Assessment to work on their own flourishing. Members also convene socially in-person and online every few months.

The Heart of
Practical Flourishing
Joining FLORIS means stepping into a community of leaders at the heart of Practical Flourishing, the growing collective within the larger global human flourishing movement. Over time, that can look like: fewer nights feeling isolated, more moments in rooms that nourish growth, more courage to pursue what actually matters, and a growing sense of being part of something bigger that has an active influence on mainstreaming human flourishing for the benefit of all.

The Practical Flourishing Assessment is proven — it’s worked for us and many others, and we think it will work for our members. If a member tries The Practical Flourishing Assessment, in good faith, for the first 3 months of their membership (using the tool as it’s designed and completing 3 TPFA monthly online sessions sequentially), and they do not find it practical for their life and a contribution to their flourishing, we will return their money (minus TPFA Booklet + shipping costs).

David Fulton
ROSIE VON LILA’s métier is human flourishing.
A multi-disciplinary creative and executive, Rosie writes and creates artworks and tools to bring people together around human flourishing, and communicate what academic research teaches us about the subject.

Rosie weaves together the wildly unexpected from her professional experience: nearly a decade working in Wall Street finance, a long history of working with the Burning Man global arts organization, and engaging the US Army, Navy, and Marines with her framework on participatory culture.
Rosie was featured in Steven Kotler’s and Jamie Wheal's Stealing Fire.
DAVID FULTON helps founders and investors grow regenerative ventures that build flourishing communities.
David’s mission as a Regenerative Growth Executive is to cultivate life-affirming commerce by making a difference in discovering and building the essential capabilities and capacities for flourishing.
David’s career, supporting 35 startups and advising hundreds of organizations, has driven 10x revenue acceleration and fostered environments where prosperity aligns with ecological well-being. David ensures the resulting impact is quantifiable: He has directly contributed to generating $100M+ in revenues to businesses, and personally secured $14M+ in capital. David specializes in developing high-performance, low-attrition sales cultures, a skill honed from pioneering leadership structures (such as achieving a zero-attrition rate as Platoon Commander at the US Coast Guard Academy) and setting retail sales records.

As co-founder of Treehouse.coach, David provides executive leadership coaching that demonstrates "scale at the speed of care," integrating holistic frameworks and regenerative operating systems. David’s work also extends to ethical infrastructure innovation through Wild Build Guilds, designing and building solutions to foster community resilience and ecological health. David’s journey is rooted in a profound commitment to living in integrity, fostering creativity under all conditions, and growing relationships that transform challenges into opportunities.

Dance Partners in Life and Flourishing!
In Rosie's
Words

FLORIS began with a frustration and a question: Why did the best academic measures of flourishing leave me with a number, but didn’t show me what to do next to increase my flourishing? Wanting a tool to actually practice my flourishing, David and I made for ourselves a measurement system that eventually became The Practical Flourishing Assessment (TPFA).
TPFA started on a big pad of paper, hand-drawn, month after month. This led to inviting a few close friends to try it. Word spread. TPFA moved from our living-room practice to workshops for organizations. We gave a workshop to NYPD. Then a presentation to a joint agency of the U.S. Army and Navy.
Just after that, we started our formal research: our first study with 140 registrants across 8 countries and 22 U.S. states, with program outcomes assessed by NYU’s Initiative on Purpose and Flourishing. We also conducted a TPFA study with 100+ Columbia University students in late 2025. In Q1 2026 we’ll draw conclusions from those studies.

When the initial research cohort finished in November 2025, many participants asked us, “What’s next? What now?”—they wanted a way to keep practicing their flourishing and continue benefiting from being around other people doing the same. So we designed FLORIS as a place to continue the monthly rhythm of having a place for people to look at their own flourishing, with the easy-to-use TPFA tool.

I have been gathering people around creativity and the expression of human potential for 25 years (and explicitly around human flourishing since 2021). I have participated in work that impacts hundreds of thousands of people globally. And David has organized even larger events than I have – national, touring, massive activations, touching the lives of more than a million people.
FLORIS brings together the best of what we have to offer the world: Practical Flourishing -- easily accessed online -- and joyful belonging and growth through in-real-life curated adventures with high-character people.
